Hello and Happy New Year all!
Please join FSLC for an important creek cleanup on Saturday, January 21 from 10:00 AM- 12:00 PM on Hegenberger Rd in Oakland. Picking up trash helps keep our creek beautiful and healthy. Martin Luther King Day of Service is a fun, community-building event for participants of all ages.
We will meet at the south-east side of the bridge over the San Leandro Creek on Hegenberger Rd in Oakland. https://www.eventbrite.com/…/mlk-day-of-service-creek…
Park inside gated area by the bridge (by our big sign) that crosses the creek, next door to HegenBurgers.
Youth, scout, church, school groups and individuals are welcome. City of Oakland and Friends of San Leandro Creek waivers must be signed, Clean Up Waiver Oakland waiver and children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Waivers will also be available to sign at event. Get your school volunteer service hours! Water and snacks will be provided. Please bring your reusable water bottle to carry with you. Bring gloves, wear heavy shoes and clothing you don’t mind getting dirty. We will provide vinyl gloves. Bring your own 5 gallon bucket to collect trash for the dumpster.
