Since its inception in the early 1990's, FSLC has been constantly undertaking projects to help raise awareness of our natural resources. Many of these projects were large scale, city emcompassing ideas.
"Nature's Hidden Treasure,"
FSLC painted one of the largest murals underneath the E. 14th Street bridge at Root Park. For more information about the mural, or to take a virtual tour, please click here.
FSLC Interactive CD-Rom
FSLC wanted a way to help make our children and community at large more aware about the natural splendor that the creek offers. Their solution was the creation of an Educational CD-ROM. For more information on this project, please click here.
San Leandro Watershed Education Center
Our latest project, the Ed. Center will be a place for everyone to come and learn more about the creek that flows in their backyard. To learn more about this project, please click here.
Held twice a year, volunteers come together to help clean the creek and keep the Ecosystem healthy. For images of previous Creek Clean-Ups, please click here.
We are currently looking for volunteers for our creek monitoring
team. No experience needed, we will train you! Volunteers meet
one Saturday a month to collect data on water quality, vegetation
and wildlife, stream flow, and more. For more information or if
you're interested in volunteering please contact Susan Levenson
at (510) 577-6069 or email@example.com
Watershed Awareness Festivals
Every spring, FSLC hosts a Watershed Awareness Festival. For the festival, we have local school students create pieces to show how important the creek and surround watershed is. For images of previous Festivals, please click here.
