San Leandro Creek-side Restoration Day Saturday, May 18 10:00 AM-3:00 PM
After 5 years of restoration, we are starting the 2nd phase of work at Chabot Park! This year we will begin work on a native garden. We have removed @ an acre of non-native plants along the creek, this garden will grow the plants that should be there. This demonstration garden will be planted with transplanting along the creek in mind. While continuing to remove invasives, we’ll build this demo area.
Help Friends of San Leandro Creek in making the creek healthier, more resilient. We’ll remove invasive plants, then sheet-mulch with cardboard and wood chips to keep invasive species from returning. We’ll prepare the area for appropriate natives. Please join us!
