Join FSLC and Bird Expert Ann Graham for a walk around Arrowhead Marsh. Birds that visit the Pacific Flyway at Arrowhead Marsh are world travelers! Come see which birds are resting on their long journeys on March 27. We’ll meet in the main parking lot at MLK Park and have an easy stroll from 10:00 AM -1:00 PM. Bring binoculars, curiousity and a snack for this exploration of our feathered friends that enjoy the salty and fresh water of this interior estuary of the San Francisco Bay. 5′ tide at 10:00 AM, 1.6′ at 1:00 PM
What we may see: Greater White-fronted Goose (sporadic), ducks; Eared, Horned, Clark’s, Western, and Red-necked (rare) Grebes; occasional Common Loon, Long-billed Curlew, Willet, Short-billed Dowitcher, Red Knot possible, Black-bellied Plover, Marbled Godwit, Greater Yellowlegs, Western and Least Sandpipers, Merlin, California and Mew Gulls, Say’s Phoebe, American Pipit, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Ridgway’s Rail and the burrowing owl.
